May 8, 2000 - Interview with Dr. Johnson We interviewed Paula Johnson, M.D. M.P.H., Assistant Professor of Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital. We discussed the scope of the problem and her own research on the racial disparities in healthcare.
April 14, 2000 - Interview with Michelle Bowdler We interviewed Michelle Bowdler, Director Tufts Health Service. As the founder of the Roxbury Heart Center.
April 13, 2000 - Interview with Dr. Rich We interviewed Dr. John Rich, M.D. M.P.H., the Medical Director of the Boston Public Health Commission. We discussed the need for health education within the community, tools for coping with racism and the need for African-Americans to feel empowered when it comes to managing their own health care.
March 22, 2000 - Interview with Dr. West We interviewed Cornel West, Professor of Religion and Afro-American Studies at Harvard University. We interviewed Professor West in the Library and he discussed the history of racism, and the philosophic, ethical, and social aspects of racism.
March 14, 2000 - Interview with Dr. Britto Interviewed Vanessa Britto, M.D. M.Sc., Doctor of Internal Medicine and discussed the issue of minority groups and cardiovascular disease and the disparities within health care.
February 28, 2000 - Keith's race with students and interview with his wife Keith wins the race with his students in the school gym. Interviewed Keith's wife Adelle Hartgrove.
February 25, 2000 - Interview with Dr. Dobroski, drive to hospital Interviewed David Dobroski, M.D., Cardiology Section, Carney Hospital. Interviewed Keith as he drove to Carney Hospital and he recounted the story of driving himself to the hospital right after his heart attack. We shot b-roll of Keith and his son Lamar at their house.
February 18, 2000 - A Day in the Life of Keith Follow-up interview with Keith and a follow-up interview with his mother. "A day in the life", we shot footage of Keith with his mother in their home. The start of the day, driving to the Joshua Quincy School where he teaches.
November 16, 1999 - Interview with Dr. Krieger We followed up with a second interview of Dr. Nancy Krieger, who talked about her new research about impact of racism on heart disease.
November 9, 1999 - Heart to Heart Interviews We went to Brown University and interviewed the cast members of "Heart to Heart" a play about African-Americans and heart disease.
September 21, 1999 - Interviews with Dr. Jones & Dr. Krieger At the Harvard School of Public Health interviewed doctors who specifically research this field. Dr. Nancy Krieger, M.D., M.P.H., Ph.D. and Dr. Camara Jones, M.D., PhD.
July 18, 1999 - Keith's solo at AME Service On a hot Sunday in July we videotaped Keith's emotional solo at the Charles Street AME church. "I've got so much to thank God for" rang with powerful truth as Keith sang out to the congregation of this grand church. As the solo ends his mother and family come up to him and embrace him in tearful triumph.
May 15, 1999 - AME Church Gospel chorus rehearsal and interviews Keith prepares for his upcoming solo by rehearsing great gospel songs with the men's gospel chorus at the Historic Charles Street African Methodist Episcopal Church. We interviewed Reverend Groover and other members of the chorus and church and shot b-roll.
December 28, 1998 - Interview with Keith & his mother Shooting began shortly after Keith's release from the hospital after quadruple bypass surgery with an in-depth interview with Keith. From the couch in his childhood home, he describes his heart attack in fresh detail. We also taped an in-depth interview with his mother who talked about the same topics.
