1996 Spoleto Festival
This is a short clip highlighting Menotti's 86th birthday in Spoleto.
In 1996 I brought a crew to Spoleto Italy for a documentary I was producing and directing about Gian Carlo Menotti, a nearly forgotten but once-famous American opera composer. My friend Steve Mercurio, the successful international conductor and composer, was the Music Director of the Spoleto Festival. He gave us an insider's view with unrestricted access to the festival and the artists.
